Ukrainian Plast members to spread Bethlehem Fire
On 11 December, the Ukrainian delegation of Plast members together with scouts from other countries will participate in the celebratory Mass in the Vienna Cathedral, where an international relay race "Bethlehem Fire of Peace." After the mass, the scout organizations will begin to spread the Bethlehem fire of peace in the European countries.

Assessing the church-state relations since Viktor Yanukovych took power, Secretary of the Synod of Bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate Bishop Yevstratii (Zoria) noted that despite all the negative tendencies of "the expectations of Patriarch Kirill and some hotheads from MP [Moscow Patriarchate] that the authorities embodied in Viktor Yanikovych will by all means help destroy the structure of the Kyivan Patriarchate have not proved true at all."
New Protohegumen of Ukrainian Redemptoris elected
On November 28, Fr. Ihor Kolisnyk of the Order of the Most Holy Redeemer was elected the new protohegumen of the Lviv Province of the Order of the Most Holy Redeemer for the next four years. He replaced the previous protohegumen, Fr. Vasyl Ivaniv.
Lviv to participate in Cities for Life Day

Heads of UOC-KP, UGCC, UAOC and RCC in Ukraine to lead memorial service for victims of Holodomor
On the last Saturday of November, Ukraine remembers the victims of the Holodomor genocide of 1932-1933. On the Day of Remembrance of Victims of the Holodomor, on November 27, memorial events will be held in all the regional centers of Ukraine. The Day of Remembrance of Victims of the Holodomor will also be widely marked abroad. The memorial events in Kyiv will begin at 2:30 p.m. with a procession to the National Memorial of Holodomor Victims, where the heads of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate, Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church, and Roman Catholic Church in Ukraine will serve a memorial service.
Lviv City Council now has its own chaplain
Lviv city mayor Andriy Sadovyy asked the head of Lviv Archeparchy of UGCC, bishop Ihor Voznyak, to appoint a chaplain for Lviv City Council. The city mayor announced this at the first working session of Lviv City Council of the 6th convocation on November 25.

August 28 Orthodox and Greek Catholics celebrated the Assumption of Virgin Mary
The Eastern Orthodox and Eastern Catholics celebrate the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, Dormition of the Theotokos (the falling asleep of the Mother of God) on August 28, preceded by a 14-day fast period. Eastern Orthodox Christians believe that Mary died a natural death, that her soul was received by Christ upon death, and that her body was resurrected on the third day after her death and that she was taken up into heaven bodily in anticipation of the general resurrection. Her tomb was found empty on the third day."
Pilgrimage of families of migrant workers to Zarvanytsya has begun
On July 6, 2010, began the fifth pedestrian pilgrimage from Sambir, Lviv region, to Zarvanytsya, Ternopil region, of families of migrant workers. The pilgrimage began in the Nativity of the Holy Mother of God Church, with a Hierarchal Divine Liturgy led by Bishop Yaroslav (Pryriz), Coadjutor of the Sambir and Drohobych Eparchy.
