VATICAN CITY, SEPT. 6, 2009 (Zenit.org).- Benedict XVI's agenda for the following months includes canonizations, a synod of bishops and a visit to the Czech Republic.

The Vatican released today the Pope's itinerary through November of public liturgical celebrations and trips.

Today, the Holy Father spent the day in a pastoral visit to Viterbo-Bagnoregio.

Next Saturday he will preside over an episcopal ordination ceremony in St. Peter's Basilica.

On Sept. 26, the Pontiff will begin a three-day journey to the Czech Republic.

A few days later, Benedict XVI will celebrate the opening of the Second Special Assembly of the Synod of Bishops for Africa, on Oct. 4 in the Vatican. He will also preside over the synod's concluding ceremony, on Oct. 25 in St. Peter's Basilica.

On Saturday, Oct. 10, he will pray the rosary in the Paul VI Hall with representatives from Roman universities.

The following day, in St. Peter's Square, the Pope will proclaim five new saints in a canonization ceremony: Zygmunt Szcesny Felinski, Francisco Coll y Guitart, Jozef Damien de Veuster, Rafael Arnáiz Barón and Marie de la Croix (born Jeanne) Jugan.

On Nov. 5, the Pontiff will preside over a Mass in St. Peter's Basilica for the souls of those cardinals and bishops that died this year.

Three days later, on Nov. 8, he will travel to Brescia, in northern Italy, for a pastoral visit.
