Christians Victimised by Mangalore Police

Protests against the attacks on churches that occured recently in the Mangalore.
A constable of Konaje police station limitson 14th October assaulted Herald D'Souza (32), resident of Kairangala village.
Herald had participated in the protests recently held in Panir, against the attacks on churches that occurred in the district.

Therefore, the local police had an eye on him.
Recently, he was fixed in a case and dragged to the Konaje police station on October 14, 2008. Gopalakrishna, head constable of the station, started assaulting him without any enquiry. He hit at Herald's backbones, chest, face and hands severely.

Herald has registered a complaint against Gopalkrishna, but senior police officials are pressurizing Herald to agree for a compromise.
