KYIV- "I would like amateurs in Church, religion and spirituality matters not to do other people's business," said Hryhorii Komendant, President of the Ukrainian Bible Society at the September 8th meeting of churches, religious organizations and city officals.
"We are all united/one, if one is beaten, others are hurt," he said.

Komendant specifically mentioned Mykola Tomenko, head of the Ukrainian Temporary Investigation Committee, who recently filed a request with the government against a church. In his request, Tomenko apparently questioned the legality of the Embassy of God Church's actions and, particularly, its leader, Sunday Adelaja.

"It is very important for politicians of even the highest level to interfere less in the matters of spiritual ministry and work of Churches," said Komendant.

"When some politicians begin to touch on one particular issue, one particular Church, it will spread over to other Churches as well. Politicians should not interfere in internal Church life, support some and condemn others, as it is rather dangerous," warned Komendant.
