03-09-2008

Uhryniv-Dolhobychiv (Lviv Region)- "European Days of Good Neighborliness," a festival of Ukrainian-Polish unity, started on 30 August 2008 in western Ukraine's Lviv Region on the Ukrainian-Polish border (Uhryniv-Dolhobychiv), the site of a hoped-for future border crossing. The event began with a moleben (prayer service) to the icon of the Mother of God of Korchmyn with the intention of good Ukrainian-Polish neighborly relations. Participating were bishops of the Ukrainian Greek-Catholic Church (UGCC), Roman Catholic Church, Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate, and also a representative of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate. The head of the UGCC, Patriarch Lyubomyr (Husar), sent greetings to the participants of the celebration.
