Unique Church calendar for 2010 tells about the building of the Patriarchal Center of the UGCC

At the beginning of November in all UGCC churches in Ukraine, with the aim to collect money for building the Patriarchal Cathedral of the Resurrection of Christ, a special church wall calendar will become available for the year 2010. This edition will be unique for never before has there been in printed form presented a chronology of the construction of the future main church of the UGCC. In the calendar through the pictures and short descriptions (original chronicle) is presented not only the process of building, but also the building of the future administrative house, the wooden church of Annunciation of the Holy Mother of God, as well as important historical events that occurred in this place: the returning of the See of the head of the UGCC from Lviv to Kyiv, the celebration of the 1020th anniversary of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus', and the first hierarchal ordination in the cathedral. The calendar also provides information about the action "My ‘bricks' for the building of the Patriarchal Cathedral," the first stage of which was conducted from the fall of 2007 to the summer of 2008, and the second stage of which began on November 1, 2008, and continues today.

In the calendar each month includes a photo and text which cover these themes: the blessing of the head stone, the building of the Patriarchal Center in 2003-2004, the blessing and setting of crosses, the building of the Patriarchal Center in 2005, the transference of the See of the head of the UGCC from Lviv to Kyiv, the building of the Patriarchal Center in 2006-2007, the wooden Church of the Annunciation of the Holy Mother of God, the action "My ‘brick' for the building of the Patriarchal Cathedral," the building of the Patriarchal Center in 2008-2009, the celebration of the1020th anniversary of the baptism of Kyivan Rus', the first Episcopal ordination in the Patriarchal Cathedral, and the Guest of the Patriarchal Center of the UGCC.

In addition to these materials, the calendar provides information about the Seven Holy Sacraments, church, prayer, Liturgy, and lent. "We organized it a way so that users of the calendar could either to be reminded or be informed for the first time about important components of Christian spiritual life. We hope that the liturgical materials will provide the faithful with a better understanding of the importance and utility of each of the Seven Holy Sacraments, as well as the necessities of prayer (both private and joint), and the importance of lent," noted the members of editorial board of the calendar.

The number of printed copies of the calendar is 30 thousands. The cost is 15 UAH. All the money from the church calendar will be used to cover the costs of building the Patriarchal Center of the UGCC
