UGCC Head and Lviv Mayor Call for More Respect for the Environment

LVIV - On the eve of the New Church Year, September 13, 2009, in John Paul's Park in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv, the head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church Patriarch Lubomyr and the Lviv mayor Andrii Sadovyi together with UGCC bishops planted cherry trees.
Patriarch Lubomyr noted during the event that he wishes to symbolize the beginning of the New Church Year and at the same time inspire people to show more respect for the environment, care for their neighbors, and preserve nature.
