Tymoshenko Wants Spiritual Education in All Education Institutions of Ukraine

LVIV - On August 20, 2009, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko declared that she wants to see spiritual education in all education institutions of Ukraine and give religious institutions the same status as secular ones. The internet resource "Ob'yektyvno" informed that Tymoshenko stated this during her address at the annual meeting of the Ukrainian World Congress in Lviv.
According to her, now in the Ukrainian society there is a spiritual crisis, and thus she believes spiritual lessons should be taught in all educational institutions, especially in colleges.
"And all the existing religious institutions should have the same status as secular colleges," said the prime minister.
Also, Tymoshenko mentioned that today the Ukrainian language has become fashionable. "Today the language is taught and spoken. The country has changed. The merit is ours and yours," said Tymoshenko.
Tymoshenko added that representatives of the Ukrainian diaspora did more for the defense of Ukrainian interests than even representatives from Ukraine, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
