Believers of Sharon Church, Holalkere were dragged out of their church and in the presence of local police; the radical Hindus applied "KUMKUM" as a sign of conversion to Hinduism.

The incident happened on 31st August at 12.15 just after the pastor N Kumar (30 years) finished his sermon. The radical Hindus were led by Srinivas, Hanumantha and Basavaraj. The radical then attacked pastor Kumar in front of the police. The pastor was treated with first aid at Hollakera government hospital. Later the pastor was taken to Hollakera police station and is currently detained at the station.
